Hatcliff Counseling Team

Nate Collins, MA in Counseling

Nate partners with individuals, couples, and families navigating stress, grief, depression, anxiety, life transitions, relational conflict, and trauma. Nate especially harbors a passion for walking alongside men, as well as adolescents and young professionals. Nate believes in the inherent dignity of everyone who walks through his door and enjoys working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Nate’s therapeutic approach revolves around building strong, collaborative relationships with clients through a person-centered perspective that honors clients’ needs, goals, and strengths. Curiosity and compassion form the bedrock of this practice. Nate’s hope is for clients to learn to grow curious towards their own story: where they find themselves, where they’d like to go, and the paths they’d like to travel to get there. Through the facilitation of new emotionally corrective experiences, increased self-awareness, and the learning of new skills that promote mind and body integration, Nate strives to help clients increase their ability to access resources found both within themselves and outside of themselves as they navigate life’s challenges. Nate draws from a variety of techniques from Internal Family Systems, EMDR Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, and Play Therapy.

Nate offers in-person and telehealth counseling options.

Nate believes the human mind and body has an intrinsic ability to heal itself in safe relationship. Similarly, he believes that as a person becomes more curious and compassionate towards themselves, not only do they experience internal healing and growth but also an increased capacity to be charitable towards other people. Nonetheless, change is often imperceptible, like the growth of a tree. Nate believes not only is this okay, but that it’s normal. Nate would be honored to walk alongside you in seasons of darkness and light on your unique journey of healing and growth.
